Egypt sets November 1 for long-awaited museum's inauguration

Aug 07, 2025

Cairo [Egypt], August 7: Egypt will officially inaugurate its long-awaited museum near the Pyramids on November 1, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said on Wednesday, after the war that erupted between Israel and Iran led authorities to cancel a July ceremony. While it has been open for visitors since last year, the official inauguration comes nearly a decade after it was originally planned. World leaders and prominent figures are scheduled to be invited to the celebration. The foundation stone of the museum was laid in 2002 near the Pyramids and the Sphinx.
