US, Iranian talks on nuclear programme set to continue next week

Tehran [Iran], April 27: Iran and the US plan to continue their negotiations on the Iranian nuclear programme in the coming week, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said after the third round of negotiations in Oman on Saturday.
"The negotiations were conducted very seriously and professionally," Araghchi said after the meeting with US special envoy Steve Witkoff which lasted several hours.
The negotiations are expected to continue in the same constellation next Saturday in Oman. Iranian nuclear chief Mohammed Eslami is also expected to take part in the talks, Araghchi said, according to ISNA news agency. Alongside political talks, technical negotiations also took place and Araghchi said the initial focus was on identifying the points of contention in order to gradually clarify them in the next rounds of negotiations. "We are cautiously optimistic," he said. (DPA)
