US forces seize another Venezuela-linked oil tanker in the Caribbean: Military

Caracas [Venezuela], January 16: US forces have again seized control of an oil tanker in the Caribbean, the military said on Thursday.
Marine infantry and sailors took control of the tanker Veronica before dawn, the US Southern Command, said in a post on X. The operation was reportedly carried out without incident.
US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said on X that the vessel was a sanctioned tanker that had previously transited Venezuelan waters and violated a blockade imposed by President Donald Trump. The seizure is the latest in a series of similar actions in recent weeks, after Trump announced a "a total and complete blockade of all sanctioned oil tankers" travelling to and from Venezuela.
