Two helicopters crash in south-western Finland; several people killed

Helsinki [Finland], May 18: Several people were killed on Saturday when two helicopters crashed in Eura in south-western Finland, the police said.
In a statement, the Finnish police said there were two people in one of the helicopters and three in the other, and that the accident resulted in "several fatalities." It said the exact number of deaths and the identities of the passengers are still being determined.
But the Estonian public broadcaster ERR reported that all five passengers are believed to have died.
The crash occurred at midday in south-western Finland. According to investigators, the helicopters were travelling from the Estonian capital Tallinn to a Finnish airfield.
Investigators found the wreckage of the two helicopters in a wooded area north of Turku. The cause of the accident remains unclear. The Finnish broadcaster yle quoted a local resident from the area, who said the two helicopters were flying very close to each other. (DPA)
