Türkiye's flagship defense, aerospace expo kicks off in Istanbul

Istanbul [Turkey], October 23: The fourth edition of Türkiye's leading international defense and aerospace exhibition, the Saha Expo Defense and Aerospace Exhibition, kicked off here on Tuesday.
Organized by SAHA Istanbul, one of the largest clusters of the European Aerospace Cluster Partnership, the five-day event has attracted more than 300 delegations from 120 countries and is attended by 1,400 companies, according to the expo's official website.
The event will showcase many high-tech products of strategic importance in the defense, aerospace, maritime, and space industries, the website said, noting that it will feature over 300 product launches.
Held every two years, the number of exhibitors of this year's expo increased by 112 percent compared to that of the last edition held in 2022, the website said.
According to posts published Tuesday on the expo's official X account, SAHA Istanbul Chairman Haluk Bayraktar said during the opening ceremony that 6.2 billion U.S. dollars worth of contracts will be signed in 133 ceremonies, including 4.6 billion dollars in export agreements.
Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler said at the ceremony that "the most effective defense and security come from strong cooperation and dialogue between nations. International events like SAHA EXPO are crucial in fostering these partnerships."
