Turkiye detains 12 people after shoot-out near Israeli consulate in Istanbul

Istanbul [Turkiye], April 14: Three further suspects have been detained following a shoot-out with security forces outside the Israeli consulate in Istanbul, the Turkish state news agency Anadolu reported on Monday.
Nine suspects were already detained on Saturday, bringing the total number in custody in connection with the attack to 12.
According to official reports, one attacker was killed and two others injured in the incident last Tuesday. Two police officers were also reportedly slightly injured.
Anadolu reported that the attackers fired at officials outside the consulate, prompting the police to return fire.
The outlet said it has been established that the attack was planned by Islamic State, and that the suspects are members of the terrorist group. (DPA)
