Turkey's Erdogan condemns Gaza bombardments as 'massacre'

Oct 12, 2023

Istanbul [Turkey], October 12: Turkey condemns the killing of civilians in Israel but also opposes "indiscriminate" bombardments of Gaza, Turkish President RecepTayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday.
"We openly oppose the killing of civilians on Israeli territories. Likewise, we can never accept the massacre of defenceless innocents in Gaza by indiscriminate, constant bombardments," Erdogan told a meeting of his party. "It is not a war but a massacre when you carry out a conflict using all kinds of shameful methods," Erdogan said. He said Israel was denying Gazans basic humanitarian supplies, including water and electricity, while targeting infrastructure, places of worship and schools. (DPA)
