May 24, 2026

Tehran [Iran], May 24: US President Donald Trump is split "50/50" between reaching a deal with Iran and restarting military strikes, Axios reports, raising the threat of renewed escalation.
Axios reporter Barak Ravid said he spoke to Trump by phone, with the US president saying there was an even chance of securing a "good" agreement or deciding to "blow them to kingdom come."
Trump said he would meet later on Saturday with senior aides, including envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, as well as Vice President JD Vance, to discuss the talks.
