Jan 29, 2025

Seoul [South Korea], January 29: A passenger plane caught fire shortly after landing at the airport of the South Korean city of Busan on Tuesday evening.
All 169 passengers and seven crew members on board managed to escape to safety using an inflatable slide, South Korea's official Yonhap news agency reported. Three people suffered minor injuries, according to the report.
The plane was operated by the South Korean airline Air Busan. Its tail is said to have caught fire at 10.30 pm (1330 GMT).
Images showed flames several metres high shooting out of the aircraft's roof. The plane had arrived in Busan from Hong Kong. It was initially unclear whether the fire broke out before or after landing.
It comes after the deadliest accident in South Korean aviation history just one month ago, when a passenger plane operated by South Korean budget airline Jeju Air crashed into a concrete wall after landing at Muan International Airport.
Nearly all 181 passengers on board lost their lives in the accident at the end of December. (DPA)
