The Hague [Netherlands], June 26: Some 200 people were arrested as Dutch police cleared a protest on the sidelines of a high-stakes NATO summit held in the city of The Hague on Wednesday.
Extinction Rebellion climate activists briefly blocked parts of a key motorway to demonstrate against the gathering which saw NATO leaders, including US President Donald Trump, approving a unprecedented hike in defence spending.
They also protested against Israel's actions in Gaza.
Police clashed with demonstrators in isolated cases during the arrests, according to reporters at the scene, with officers said to have used batons.
