Sharjah Ruler directs establishment of mental health facility

Sharjah [UAE], December 22: Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and Member of the Supreme Council, has directed on Wednesday the establishment of a facility dedicated to the treatment of mental illnesses.
His Highness added that this facility will perform semi-custodial work for mental patients, overseeing the necessary sedation doses and returning them safely to their families.
Sharjah Ruler added that providing psychological and physical monitoring of patients is one of the centre's primary responsibilities.
