Schmidt is Red Bull Head of Global Soccer

New York [US], August 3: Coach Roger Schmidt has been appointed Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull in succession of Jurgen Klopp, who was appointed German national team coach a week ago. The Austrian soft drinks makers Red Bull said that Schmidt has signed a long-term contract and will start on October 1.
Schmidt knows Red Bull from his time as RB Salzburg coach 2012-2014. He has also been in charge of Bayer Leverkusen, Beijing Guoan, PSV Eindhoven und Benfica. His last position was that of Global Sports Director of the J-League in Japan.
As Head of Global Soccer, Roger Schmidt will be responsible for the strategic direction and long-term development of Red Bull's global football portfolio together with Head of Global Soccer Commercial, Florian Schulz. (DPA)
