Hanoi [Vietnam], July 16: Episode 195 of "Vietnamese Family Home" features host Oc Thanh Van , along with two guests: footballer Que Ngoc Hai and runner-up Tran Ngoc Chau Anh. Returning to the program for the second time, Que Ngoc Hai expressed his excitement at being able to contribute to helping those in difficult circumstances. He was especially moved by the opportunity to be filmed in his hometown of Nghe An.
During the program, the story of Vo Thi Phuong Anh moved many people to tears. Lacking a father's love from a young age, she grew up under the care of her mother, Vo Thi Phuong, and her maternal grandmother, Le Thi Gio.
According to the story, the girl's mother has unstable mental health and can only do simple jobs, while her grandmother is old and frail and no longer able to work. Phuong Anh also has an older brother who works in Ho Chi Minh City, but his income is not stable, so he cannot help the family much.
The family owns two plots of land but lacks a main laborer, so they have to hire workers for each harvest. After deducting expenses, they only have about 900,000 VND left each harvest to cover living expenses. The family's main source of income currently comes from a monthly allowance of 1.1 million VND and the mother's babysitting job, which earns about 3 million VND per month. The house they live in is dilapidated, with a damp floor and frequent leaks during heavy rain. On stormy days, they have to seek shelter at a neighbor's house.
Being understanding and rather introverted, Phuong Anh rarely shares her feelings with others. Whenever she feels sad, she often thinks about the hardships her mother and grandmother endure to remind herself to try harder. The young girl hopes to grow up soon so she can work to help her family and pursue her dream of becoming an actress.
Que Ngoc Hai and the guest panel share their stories.
MC Oc Thanh Van couldn't hide her emotion while listening to Ms. Phuong's story. Despite her poor health, she was always worried about her daughter and elderly mother, never once thinking about herself. Even during periods of emotional instability, when she couldn't provide her daughter with a complete family, she still tried her best to work and raise her child.
Witnessing Phuong Anh's situation, footballer Que Ngoc Hai couldn't hide his sorrow. He said that having an 8-year-old daughter himself, he understands and feels heartbroken seeing young children suffer so many disadvantages in life at such a young age.
The male player shared that he brought his wife and daughter to the filming session hoping that his daughter would witness firsthand the hardships faced by others, learn to appreciate what she has, and cultivate empathy and a strong will to overcome challenges in life.
Que Ngoc Hai also expressed his admiration for Phuong Anh's mother's resilience, as she continues to work hard to support her child despite her poor health. He gave the little girl a comforting hug, encouraging her to continue striving in her studies, pursuing her education so that she can have a stable job in the future, fulfill her dreams, and repay her grandmother and mother's kindness.
Meanwhile, runner-up Tran Ngoc Chau Anh expressed her admiration for Phuong Anh's studious spirit and determination to overcome difficulties. Upon learning that Phuong Anh had never tasted braised pork belly, only knowing about it from movies and always longing to try it, the beauty queen was deeply moved. She continuously encouraged and wished Phuong Anh to always maintain her strength, pursue her dreams, and believed that with hard work, she would have a brighter future.
