Qatar, Uzbekistan discuss ways to enhance trade ties

Doha [Qatar], May 24: Qatar and Uzbekistan discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and explore partnership opportunities in strategic projects, contributing to the strengthening of economic, trade, and investment relations between the two countries.
This came during a visit by a Qatari delegation to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, headed by Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry HE Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed.
During the visit, the minister held a series of bilateral meetings with several senior officials in Uzbekistan, including Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov; Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyar Saidov; Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov; and Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamahmudov.
The meetings focused on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and explore partnership and investment opportunities in several priority sectors, including infrastructure, transportation, and other areas that reflect the two countries' aspirations to expand economic cooperation and achieve their common interests.
On the sidelines of the visit, Minister Al Sayed and Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov co-chaired the Qatari-Uzbek roundtable meeting in Tashkent.
