Polish PM urges unity amid talks on potential gov't reshuffle

Jun 27, 2025

Warsaw [Poland], June 27: Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Thursday called for unity among the ruling coalition.
The appeal comes as leaders of the governing alliance are engaged in discussions over a possible government reshuffle.
Tusk warned of a "serious test" ahead amid the ongoing negotiations. "If you don't know how to act... don't let yourselves be divided," he wrote on social media, urging his coalition partners to remain cohesive.
According to the coalition agreement, Szymon Holownia, leader of Poland 2050, is to serve as speaker of the Sejm (the lower house of parliament) until November 13, 2025. After that, the post is to be handed over to Wlodzimierz Czarzasty, co-chair of the New Left, for the remainder of the parliamentary term.
However, this arrangement has sparked growing discontent and internal friction.
The next round of coalition talks is scheduled for next week.
