Islamabad [Pakistan], January 6: Pakistan police announced today that at least one person was killed and nine others, including two women, were injured when a homemade bomb exploded targeting a bus belonging to a cement factory in the Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, northwestern Pakistan.
Police said the explosion occurred on Begokhel Road near the Nawarkhel Mor area, noting that all the victims are residents of Begokhel village.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately after the explosion and transferred the injured to Lakki city hospital for treatment.
The incident comes amid a rise in terrorist attacks targeting law enforcement agencies and civilian facilities, particularly in the border provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since the Afghan Taliban seized power in Afghanistan in 2021.
