Oil prices settle lower, Brent at US$100.20 a barrel

New York [US], October 8: Oil prices settled lower on Wednesday after a volatile session, following the International Energy Agency's (IEA) agreement to accelerate releases from oil reserves and prioritise diesel stocks.
Brent crude futures fell 38 cents, or 0.38 per cent, to settle at US$100.20 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures dropped US$1.16, or 1.3 per cent, to US$88.28 a barrel.
