North Korea develops new multiple rocket launcher system.

Dec 30, 2025

Pyongyang [North Korea], December 30: North Korean leader Kim Jong-un inspected an ammunition factory and said that a multiple rocket launcher system built there would become the core force of modernized long-range artillery.
According to KCNA news agency on December 30, during a visit with senior officials of the missile program, Kim Jong-un stated that the new weapon system would become the "main offensive weapon" of the North Korean military in the near future.
According to the leader, the multi-barreled rocket system is "a super-powerful weapon system capable of destroying the enemy with surprise attacks, with high accuracy and destructive power."
The leader emphasized that the new multiple rocket launch system would give North Korea the capability for rapid, precise strikes and to carry out strategic attacks.
KCNA said the system would be "deployed in large numbers to conduct concentrated attacks in military operations."
The leader's visit to the factory came a day after Pyongyang announced it had test-fired two long-range strategic cruise missiles, demonstrating a "state of combat readiness" against external threats.
The RAND (a US-based policy research organization) estimated in 2020 that North Korean artillery systems could inflict approximately 10,000 casualties in just one hour if they targeted major population centers, such as the South Korean capital Seoul.
Pyongyang has also stepped up its missile testing activities in recent years.
