Paris [France], July 1: Prosecutors in Monaco say they do not believe that an explosion that left three people seriously injured in the principality was a terrorist attack.
Prosecutor Stephane Thibault said on Tuesday that there was currently no indication it was terrorism, and that investigations were under way on suspicion of attempted homicide and explosives offences.
The prosecutor's office did not provide any information on the identity of the victims.
Media outlets in Monaco, France and Ukraine reported however that the victims were Ukrainian oligarch Vadym Yermolayev, his wife and the couple's son.
The injured victims have not yet been questioned, the prosecutor said. The woman was still in critical condition.
The man and child were in a stable condition, he said.
All three were taken to a hospital in Nice in southern France.
A powerful explosion occurred at the entrance to a residential building in Monaco on Monday evening, after a man had apparently left a package there. The suspect, who is said to have fled the scene on foot, is still on the run.
