NATO's Rutte travels to Washington for talks on peace in Ukraine

Washington [US], April 25: NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte was travelling to Washington on Thursday for talks with senior members of the US administration, the NATO alliance and the US State Department announced.
Rutte was scheduled to meet US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz. Discussions are expected to focus on efforts to end the war in Ukraine, where peace negotiations remain stalled.
US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that a deal with Russia was within reach, while claiming that dealing with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been "harder" than with Russian President Vladimir Putin. (DPA)
