Leeds United biggest giant killing victims in FA Cup third round

Jan 11, 2021

London (UK), January 11: Leeds United were victims of the biggest upset of the third round of the FA Cup so far when the Premier League side was beaten 3-0 away to Crawley Town, who currently play in League Two of English football.
Second-half goals from Nick Tsaroulla, Ashley Nadesan, and Jordan Tunnicliffe put Crawley into the fourth round of the competition for the first time since 2012, while Leeds have crashed out in the third round for four consecutive seasons.
Manchester City had no problems brushing past Birmingham City from the Championship with a 3-0 win in a game that was as good as over by the 33rd minute, by which time two goals from Bernardo Silva and one from Phil Foden had put Pep Guardiola's side into cruise control.
Frank Lampard also had a placid Sunday as Chelsea enjoyed a comfortable 4-0 win at home to League Two Morecambe.
Lampard is under pressure after a poor Christmas period for his side, and beating a team from three leagues below will at least give him some recovery time.
Mason Mount and Timo Werner put Chelsea 2-0 up by halftime and goals from Callum Hudson-Odoi and Kai Havertz sealed the win after the break.
Three goals in 13 minutes from Carlos Vinicius helped Tottenham end sixth tier Marine's FS Cup dream as Jose Mourinho's side provided a dose of reality with a 5-0 away win. Alfie Devine, at 16 years and 163 days, netted the fifth goal in the second half.
Premier League strugglers Brighton needed a penalty shoot-out to get past League Two, Newport County in a game which saw Solly March put Brighton ahead in the 90th minute only for Adam Webster's 98th-minute own goal to take the game into extra time.
Saturday's games saw Manchester United beat Watford 1-0, while Liverpool beat a team made up of Aston Villa youngsters 4-1 on Friday night.
