Sana'a [Yemen], September 17: The Israeli army said on Tuesday it carried out airstrikes on the port of Hodeida in western Yemen, targeting what it described as military infrastructure belonging to the Houthi movement.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the site was being used by the Houthis to transfer weapons supplied by Iran, intended for attacks on Israel and its allies.
The Yemeni News Agency (SABA) reported that Israeli aircraft carried out raids on Hodeida port, adding that air defences were responding to the attack. Residents reported more than 10 attacks. Clouds of smoke and columns of fire were seen above the port. It was initially unclear whether there were any deaths or injuries. (DPA)
