Holocaust survivor Margot Friedlaender died at 103

Berlin [Germany], May 10: Holocaust survivor Margot Friedlaender died at the age of 103 on Friday, according to German media reports.
Friedlaender, one of the most widely known witnesses of Holocaust, hid underground during the Nazi extermination of the Jews in Berlin, but was betrayed and then deported to a concentration camp. She survived, but her entire family was murdered.
Friedlander returned to Germany after decades as an emigrant in New York. The honorary citizen of Berlin was committed to preventing the loss of memory, with a particular focus on the younger generation.
According to German media NTV reports, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier expressed his condolences on the death of Friedlaender.
