Germany advises airlines to avoid Iranian airspace, citing regional tensions

Berlin [Germany], January 16: Germany's air traffic control authority DFS on Thursday issued a recommendation advising airlines to avoid Iranian airspace until February 10, citing heightened regional tensions.
The recommendation was made at the instruction of the German Ministry of Transport, according to a DFS spokesperson and local media reports.
The move follows a preemptive decision by Germany's Lufthansa Group to restrict its flight operations in the Middle East, according to German media reports.
