Four killed, 3 missing in Spain bus crash

Madrid [Spain], December 26: Four people died and three are missing after a bus plunged into a river in north-western Spain on Christmas Eve, the emergency services reported on Sunday.
Rescue workers pulled the third and fourth bodies from the Lerez river in the province of Galicia on Sunday morning. The bus was now empty, they reported. The emergency services and the regional government said a search for survivors was under way.
The authorities have yet to identify the victims, and the cause of the accident remains unclear.
The bus was travelling from Vigo to Lugo with nine people on board, when it plunged off a bridge near Pedre in the late evening. The driver and one of the eight passengers were rescued.
The emergency services reported that the bus was in an extremely inaccessible position and almost covered by water.
Rescue workers abseiled from the bridge to get to the vehicle, and their work was hampered by the strong current and rain.
