Drones spotted once more at Danish military sites ahead of EU summit

Copenhagen [Denmark], September 29: Several drones were again spotted over Danish military bases overnight, the armed forces said on Sunday, without providing further details.
Local media reported that the incidents did not lead to any airspace closures over Danish airports.
The sightings came ahead of EU leaders' meetings in Copenhagen on Wednesday and Thursday. They are set to discuss the protection of critical infrastructure and strengthening European defence readiness.
Denmark has been on high alert following a string of drone incidents over the past week. Copenhagen Airport was closed for several hours late Monday, while smaller airports were affected two days later. On Saturday, at least one drone was observed over Denmark's largest military base.
The Danish government described the events as a "hybrid attack" and investigators suspect a professional actor aiming to sow unrest in the NATO country.
Russia has denied involvement in a statement through its embassy in Denmark on Thursday.
Germany's Defence Ministry said Denmark had requested support from several nations to secure the EU summit, citing widespread incidents of "unidentified unmanned aircraft, particularly in the vicinity of civilian and military infrastructure in Denmark." Germany will contribute by providing systems to counter unmanned aerial vehicles.
