Drones sighted over NATO base

Nov 02, 2025

Brussels [Belgium], November 2: Several drones have been sighted over the Belgian military base Kleine-Brogel, which is used by NATO.
"The detection system is working," Belgian Defence Minister Theo Francken wrote on the social media platform X on Saturday.
"Investigations are ongoing." He said he would meet the police next week to analyse the threat and take the necessary measures to find and arrest the drone pilots.
The military base in Kleine-Brogel in the region of Flanders was part of the annual NATO manoeuvre in October for the defence of the alliance's territory with nuclear weapons, involving about 2,000 military personnel.
According to unconfirmed reports, the airbase is one of the locations in Europe where US nuclear weapons are stored. (DPA)
