Dozens of people detained in Paris after fireworks set off near Eiffel Tower

Paris [France], December 29: Dozens of people have been detained after setting off smoke bombs and fireworks in central Paris, French media reported on Saturday.
The group was reportedly at the famous Trocadero square near the Eiffel Tower in the French capital.
Television station BFMTV said officers intervened after spotting the fireworks on CCTV footage. Some 40 people are said to have been held.
No one was injured in the incident, according to the Le Parisien newspaper.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, BFMTV said. (DPA)
