Jan 05, 2025

Zagreb [Croatia], January 5: Croatia recorded over 21.3 million tourist arrivals and more than 108.7 million overnight stays in 2024, marking increases of four percent and one percent respectively compared to 2023, Croatia Week reported on Saturday.
From January to May last year, tourist arrivals increased by 11 percent, while overnight stays grew by 12.5 percent. Similarly, from October to December last year, tourist arrivals rose by 10.3 percent and overnight stays by 9.7 percent, the report said, citing data from the eVisitor system, which tracks tourist activity in commercial and non-commercial accommodation and nautical charters.
"We are very pleased with the achievements in 2024, both in terms of visitor numbers and financial metrics, as all indicators show another record year. Particularly gratifying is the notable growth during the pre-season and post-season, confirming Croatia as a year-round destination," Croatian Minister of Tourism and Sport Tonci Glavina was quoted as saying.
The Croatian National Bank announced on Thursday that Croatia's tourism revenues are expected to reach a new record of 16 billion euros (16.51 billion U.S. dollars) for 2024.
Tourism has been one of the pillars of the Croatian economy, accounting for about one fifth of Croatia's Gross Domestic Product.
