Nov 20, 2022

Sofia (Bulgaria), November 20: Bulgarian authorities have detained five suspects over connection with the deadly bomb attack in Istanbul, the country's prosecution authority said Saturday.
The five detainees were involved in logistics operations after the bomb attack, Siyka Mileva, spokesperson for Bulgaria's prosecutor's office, told local media.
The arrest was based on a tip-off from Türkiye's law enforcement authorities, Mileva said.
Local television channels reported that three of those arrested were of Moldovan origin and one of Arab origin.
The explosion in Istanbul, Türkiye's largest city, on Sunday afternoon hit a crowded avenue, leaving six dead and 81 wounded.
Turkish police said Monday that they detained a Syrian woman who confessed that she had received the attack order from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party and its offshoot in Syria, the People's Protection Units. Both are listed as terrorist organizations by the government of Türkiye.
