Blast kills 7, injures 17 in north Afghanistan

Kabul [Afghanistan], October 14: Seven persons have been confirmed dead and 17 others were injured as a blast ripped through a mosque in the capital of north Afghanistan's Baghlan province on Friday, provincial director for Information and Culture Asadullah Mustafa Hashimi said.
"Seven people were killed and 17 others injured in the blast," the private television channel Tolonews quoted Hashimi as saying in its report.
The blast took place when worshipers were inside the mosque in Pul-e-Khumri city to offer their Juma (Friday) congregation.
Locals believe that the number of casualties is higher than reported.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the incident yet.
