Biden to deliver farewell address on Wednesday

Jan 12, 2025

Washington [US], January 12: Outgoing US President Joe Biden will give a farewell address to the nation on Wednesday, the White House said on Friday.
The 82-year-old will address Americans from the Oval Office at 8pm Wednesday (0100 GMT Thursday), the White House announced.
Five days later - on January 20 - the Democrat will formally hand over the presidency to his Republican predecessor Donald Trump, who was re-elected to the office in the presidential election in early November.
The transfer of power in the US capital is taking place against the backdrop of the violent events of four years ago, when Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in an attempt to prevent the certification of Biden's 2020 election victory.
