Al Thumama Ramadan Football tournament to resume today

Doha [Qatar], March 29: The third edition of the Al Thumama Ramadan Tournament shall resume at the Al Furjan Stadium on Sunday, the organising committee has announced.
The tournament being held in cooperation with the Qatar Sports for All Federation for players aged 10 to 14 had been temporarily suspended due to the situation in the region.
Four matches are scheduled, starting after Maghrib prayer.The first match will feature Al Shahaniya against Al Dafna, followed by Al Rayyan facing Al Zaeem. The third match will see Al Wajba take on Abdullah Bin Turki, while the fourth match will pit Al Dafna against the Healthcare team.
Organisers expect highly competitive and exciting games, with intense battles for the top positions.
Hassan Al Ishaq, Chairman of the Organizing Committee and member of the Municipal Council, said the resumption of the tournament supports community sports activities and encourages young talents to engage in healthy competition.
"We are delighted by the return of the Al Thumama Ramadan Tournament after its temporary suspension. The primary objective is to provide young players aged 10 to 14 with the opportunity to showcase their football skills and cultivate a spirit of competition and commitment," Al Ishaq said.
He added that the tournament is held in cooperation with the Qatar Sports for All Federation, which consistently supports community sports initiatives.
Al Ishaq concluded by saying the committee is committed to providing a safe and stimulating sporting environment for the children, hoping the tournament will help discover promising football talents with the potential to have a distinguished future in Qatari sports.
