Toc Tien makes a comeback, sparking controversy with a series of kissing scenes with a younger co-star

Hanoi [Vietnam], June 7: Singer Toc Tien returns to the music scene with the MV 'Does He Still Love Me?', a ballad with a narrative feel, combining a love story filled with regret.
On the evening of June 5th, singer Toc Tien officially released the music video for "Do You Still Love Me?" , her first solo music product of 2026. The song, composed by musician Huynh Van, was developed from a poetic idea in the poem " Let Go" from the poetry collection " We Sit Down and Tell the Wounds in Our Hearts" by actor and writer Minh Du.
Unlike the vibrant image often seen in her previous dance-pop or EDM releases, Toc Tien chose a more subdued approach for her comeback . The singer still maintains her familiar powerful voice but moderates her delivery to focus on conveying the emotions and story of the song.
The music video was directed by Nguyen Viet Anh, starring actor Tran Ngoc Vang as the male lead. The story revolves around the journey through the "glass houses" of memories of the two characters, where each space represents a stage in their past relationship.
The contrast between the vibrant greenhouses in the memories and the withered, dilapidated landscape of the present contributes to portraying the sense of loss and incompleteness in the love story.
Why did Toc Tien choose ballads for her comeback?
Speaking at the launch event, Toc Tien revealed that choosing a ballad for her comeback wasn't based on any strategic calculations.
"Actually, there aren't too many big reasons for this comeback. I received the demo of the song in 2023, but had to wait until 2026 for the project to officially launch because I felt that was the most suitable time in terms of space and emotion. Besides, ballads are a genre that audiences have always wanted to hear me perform," the singer shared.
Meanwhile, Tran Ngoc Vang said he proactively expressed his interest in participating in the project after learning about the music video. The actor expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to collaborate with the senior actress he admires, and also praised Toc Tien's professional work ethic throughout the filming process.
