S. Korea's employment grows 626,000 on-year in November

Seoul [South Korea], December 14: The number of employed people in South Korea grew by 626,000 in November from a year earlier, statistical office data showed on Wednesday.
However, the year-on-year employment growth has been on the decline for the sixth consecutive month, falling from 935,000 in May to 841,000 in June, 826,000 in July, 807,000 in August, 707,000 in September and 677,000 in October.
Employment rate for those aged 15 or higher rose 1.2 percentage points over the year to 62.7 percent last month, posting the highest November figure since relevant data began to be compiled in 1982.
The number of those unemployed was 666,000 in November, down 68,000 from a year earlier. Jobless rate slipped 0.3 percentage points to 2.3 percent.
