Pilot of Bulgarian military jet survives accident

Sofia [Bulgaria], September 29: Bulgaria's Defense Ministry said on Wednesday that a Bulgarian Su-25 aircraft had an accident near the Bezmer Air Base earlier that day, and the pilot survived.
The ministry said in a statement that the accident occurred at around 2 p.m. local time, without specifying details of the accident.
"The pilot ejected and is in good condition," the ministry said, adding that he had been given first medical aid and immediately sent to hospital.
According to Bulgarian National Television (BNT), the accident happened during the aircraft's landing.
The Bezmer Air Base, located some 300 km southeast of Sofia, is the permanent base for Bulgaria's fleet of Su-25. According to the BNT, Bulgaria has eight operational Su-25s.
