Israel receives armoured vehicles from US

Oct 20, 2023

Jerusalem [Israel], October 20: The Israeli Defence Ministry has received a shipment of armoured vehicles from the US. They arrived in a transport plane and are to replace army vehicles destroyed in the fighting with Hamas fighters.
It was initially unclear whether the vehicles would be used on the border with the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip or Lebanon, where Israel has engaged in border clashes with Iran-backed Hezbollah men. The delivery is part of "a large-scale procurement operation" to reinforce a "fleet of vehicles to address a range of operational scenarios," a ministry spokeswoman said. These included various specialized vehicles, including armoured ambulances, tactical trucks and mechanical equipment. (DPA)
